HALFCOOKIES

In the fall of 1998, Halfcookies began life as a series of sketches drawn by a mysterious "Johnny Comic." These sketches were proudly displayed on a refrigerator conveniently located a few blocks north of the University of Texas at Austin campus.

A slumming Daily Texan published three of these sketches in the spring of 2000. The first, and most seminal, of these works focuses on a staple of college life in the late 90s.

DOUG PITERA

Doug Pitera, when not causing mischief, is an easygoing fellow who likes to take things one comic strip at a time. Although he is running dangerously low on luck--and has little in the way of knowledge or experience--he does have a strong belief in Halfcookies. And it is this belief, which radiates hope like a beacon of goodwill placed at the center of the universe by an ancient, all-knowing civilization, that leads Doug into the future.
